Ole Miss lands Mr. Football winner Jamarion Owens for Pete Golding's 2026 class

The Ole Miss football staff is plenty busy recruiting players from the transfer portal to play for the Rebels in 2026, but that didn’t stop them from picking up a high school commit as well.

Three-star defensive lineman Jamarion Owens committed to Ole Miss on Jan. 10, according to a post he made on social media. Owens is the Rebels’ fifth defensive line commit and 20th overall from the class of 2026.

According to the 247Sports composite rankings, the Raleigh High School standout is ranked as the No. 58 player in Mississippi, No. 209 among defensive linemen and No. 2177 nationally.

Jamarion Owens is 3A Mr. Football

On Nov. 7, Owens was named the MHSAA 3A Mr. Football winner. This season, he had 55 tackles and five sacks. He was named to the Clarion Ledger’s 2025 Small Class All-State first team on Dec. 16.

Jamarion Owens won a state championship with Raleigh

Owens played a key role in Raleigh’s win over Noxubee County on Dec. 6 to win the MHSAA 3A state championship. Owens and Raleigh’s defense kept Noxubee County out of the end zone in the final minute, despite them starting at Raleigh’s 13-yard line.

Jamarion Owens is a former Louisiana commit

Owens committed to Louisiana before the start of his senior season on June 22. On Nov. 10, he decommitted from Louisiana and reopened his recruitment.

Jamarion Owens picked Ole Miss over 7 other schools

According to 247Sports, Owens had seven other offers. He picked Ole Miss over Louisiana, Arkansas State, Memphis, South Alabama, South Florida, Southern Miss and Central Arkansas. According to Owens’ social media, he also had an offer from Jackson State.
