The Oregon Ducks have had a busy day on Monday in terms of adding players via the transfer portal. In the morning, they secured the commitments of Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola, UAB wide receiver Iverson Hooks, Yale offensive tackle Michael Bennett and Baylor safety Carl Williams IV.

In the evening, they picked up another big-time commitment, this time from former Minnesota star safety Koi Perich as reported by CBS Sports’ Matt Zentz.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pounder is rated as a four-star and is the top-ranked safety in the 2026 transfer portal class. Perich contributed to both defense, offense and special teams during his two seasons with the Golden Gophers, proving to be one of the most talented and electric players in the Big Ten.

During his time at Minnesota, Perich totaled 128 tackles, six interceptions, four passes defensed, two forced fumbles and a sack. He also had seven catches for 89 yards and five carries for nine yards on offense. On special teams, he returned 40 punts for 306 yards and 35 kickoffs for 813 yards.

The Esko, MN, native’s commitment to Oregon may be a telling sign regarding current Duck standout safety Dillon Thieneman‘s pending decision of whether to return to Eugene for one more season or declare for the 2026 NFL draft. Thieneman is widely seen as a Day 2 or earlier pick, though he has yet to make a decision.

Perich will have two seasons of eligibility remaining after contributing heavily as a true freshman and true sophomore at Minnesota.
