Jan. 13—***

When quarterback Dylan Raiola left Nebraska to enter the transfer portal, it appeared his only appearance against Illinois was going to be a 2024 overtime loss in Lincoln.

In college football now, never say never.

The former five-star prospect announced Monday he will spend the 2026 season at Oregon. And like Nebraska, the Ducks have a game scheduled in Champaign-Urbana.

The time and date has yet to be set by the Big Ten. All we know is that the Ducks will visit the House of Grange for the first time since the Lou Tepper era.

Just because he is going to Oregon, doesn't mean Raiola will be the starter against Illinois. Some think the Ducks might still have Dante Moore on the roster, if the sure-fire early draft pick listens to the advice of experts and goes back for more college seasoning.

My take: it is unlikely Moore will return to college, even though it wouldn't cost him much money. Oregon would likely pay big bucks to have him back.

Raiola serves as Oregon's insurance policy. Though his 2025 season ended early because of a broken leg, Raiola is expected back for the start of the season. Would have been better if the Ducks were going to Lincoln.

In a really fun scheduling twist, Nebraska is scheduled to play at Oregon and against its former quarterback in 2026. Awkward.
