The Colorado Buffaloes are pushing to add another impact piece through the transfer portal and appear to be nearing the finish line with one of the top players available. Colorado has been actively recruiting former Texas Longhorns wide receiver DeAndre Moore Jr. to Boulder, and that pursuit is gaining significant momentum.

On3 experts Pete Nakos and Steve Wiltfong have both submitted predictions that Moore Jr. will land with the Buffaloes. According to On3, Moore Jr. ranks as the No. 51 player in this transfer portal cycle, while 247Sports lists him even higher at No. 18 overall.

Coming out of high school, Moore Jr. was a four-star prospect and a top 20 wide receiver nationally. His recruitment came down to Louisville, Oklahoma and Texas, ultimately choosing the Longhorns. One key connection in that decision was Brennan Marion, who served as one of his primary recruiters at Texas and is now Colorado’s offensive coordinator under Deion Sanders. With Marion now in Boulder, the potential reunion makes sense for both parties.

During his two seasons in Austin, the 6-foot-0, 192-pound wideout totaled 77 receptions for 988 yards and 11 touchdowns. Moore Jr. was always the secondary option in Texas’ offense, behind likely first-round pick Ryan Wingo. Still, he managed to produce solid numbers despite being buried on a loaded depth chart and dealing with inconsistent quarterback play.

If Colorado can get Moore Jr. over the finish line, it would be a significant boost for the Buffaloes’ offense. With Brennan Marion now calling the plays, Moore Jr.’s familiarity with the system could allow him to make an immediate impact and become a key weapon in the Go-Go offense as Colorado looks to take a step forward.
