The Oklahoma Sooners currently have the No. 1 recruiting class in the 2027 cycle. And now that the dust has settled on the 2026 recruiting class, Oklahoma's decision makers can focus more attention on 2027 and 2028. In the 2028 cycle, the Sooners are inside the top three for one of the best running backs in the class, Micah Rhodes.

Rhodes is currently ranked by Rivals as the No. 4 running back in the nation. 247Sports considers Rhodes the No. 1 running back in the country and the No. 28 player overall.

According to a story from Rivals' Hunter Shleton, the Sooners are battling with Texas A&M and Texas to land the talented runner out of Klein, Texas. Rhodes told Rivals that the opportunity to play for running backs coach DeMarco Murray excites him because of Murray's success at the NFL level.

Oklahoma is hoping to build off of the momentum they created with a College Football Playoff appearance in 2025 and what is currently the No. 1 recruiting class in 2027 to get off to a great start in the 2028 recruiting class. Brent Venables and Jim Nagy have already put the Sooners in a strong position for one of the nation's best players.
