Oregon Ducks quarterback Dante Moore might be one of the most talked-about players in college football, but former ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay doesn’t see him leaving Eugene after the 2025 season.

While appearing on his podcast hosted by The Ringer, McShay said multiple scouts expect Moore to stay with the Ducks for another year rather than enter the 2026 NFL Draft. A smart move considering another year separates him from a deep QB class, including Indiana's Fernando Mendoza and Alabama's Ty Simpson.

“There’s one scout I just talked to. Book it.  he’s gonna be back at Oregon next year,” McShay said. “The resources, the parents, the agent, the coaches are all in lock-step on this thing. Dante Moore is going to be an Oregon Duck next year, and he’s going to be paid handsomely to be that."

The former five-star recruit has guided Oregon into College Football Playoff contention and was an early Heisman Trophy frontrunner this season. His decision to stay would solidify the Ducks as a national title favorite entering 2026 season. It would also keep Dan Lanning's core offensive mastermind in place for another year.

Moore has drawn comparisons to former Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert, who also stayed in school before becoming one of the NFL’s top passers for the Los Angeles Chargers.

For Oregon, keeping Moore another year could help build up on the recruiting front as well. This would be a united front approach with Lanning not going anywhere amid the current coaching carousel.
