Alabama has officially landed a commitment from former Washington defensive lineman Caleb Smith.
A Birmingham native who attended Parker High School, Smith is a talented lineman that could serve as a much needed depth option on the Alabama defensive line in 2026. A former three-star recruit, Smith did not make an appearance for the Huskies last season, but the playmaker could quickly prove to make a difference on the Alabama defense next year.
At 6’5”, 265 pounds, Smith officially becomes the third defensive lineman that Alabama has signed from the transfer portal this offseason as the Tide continue to add depth at a multitude of positions.
Smith was ranked as the No. 105 defensive lineman and the No. 936 overall player from the class of 2025, per the 247Sports Composite rankings. The big man committed to Alabama after entering the transfer portal just six days ago, but Smith has ultimately found his new home and could very well thrive in Tuscaloosa as a result.
Alabama continues to add talent on both sides of the football from the transfer portal, with Smith becoming the latest addition to the Crimson Tide defense prior to the 2026 campaign. Smith will have four seasons of eligibility remaining.
1000% COMMITTED ALL GLORY TO GOD 🙏🏾
