Texas Football Roster Tracker: Transfers in and out from portal

The Texas Longhorns roster has gone through an upheaval in the last couple of weeks. More than two dozen players are leaving the Longhorns program via the NCAA transfer portal. Some fan favorites are gone. But Texas also has the No. 1 transfer portal class in the nation, so there are big names transferring to Texas.

Things were looking a little bleak for the Texas Longhorns when the NCAA transfer portal opened last week. With so many departures and some early misses in the portal, social media was buzzing with freaked out Longhorns fans. But one great weekend can make a big difference. According to 247Sports, Texas now has the No. 1 transfer portal class in America.

There is a sense that UT coach Steve Sarkisian and staff are going “all-in” for what will probably be Arch Manning’s final season on the 40 Acres. If Manning’s trajectory matches his 2025, he’ll be going pro after the season is over.

But it isn’t just Texas. The transfer portal has become an unregulated free-for-all. Some teams rosters were down to just a handful of players, like Iowa State.

Texas’ biggest signing so far is wide receiver Cam Coleman from Auburn. Running back Hollywood Smothers from NC State, who UT flipped from Alabama) and linebacker Rasheem Biles of Pitt were also huge pickups by Sark’s staff.

Texas has also retained a few players like offensive tackle Trevor Goosby and cornerback Kobe Black. Both have withdrawn their names from the transfer portal.

Here is a look at where the Texas Football roster stands right now. But things can change fast.
