Florida State legend Peter Warrick earns Hall of Fame induction

Former Florida State star wide receiver Peter Warrick will be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame this December, the National Football Foundation announced Wednesday.

Warrick, a two-time All-American, becomes the 12th Seminole to earn the honor. He holds the program record with 32 career receiving touchdowns and ranks second in school history with 3,517 receiving yards — the most in ACC history. Warrick also sits second all-time at FSU with 207 receptions, 15 100-yard games and an average of 4.81 catches per game.

The Bradenton, Florida, native was inducted into the FSU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2010 and had his jersey retired in 2018. He was named to the ACC’s 50th Anniversary Team in 2002.

(Nov. 24, 1992) -- Peter Warrick played high school football for the Southeast High Seminoles. He later played football for the Florida State Seminoles and was MVP of the Sugar Bowl in 2000.

Warrick is best remembered for leading the Seminoles to the 1999 national championship. He earned MVP honors in the Sugar Bowl after recording six catches for 163 yards and two touchdowns, plus a 59-yard punt return score, in a 46-29 win over Virginia Tech. FSU finished that season as the first team in college football history to go wire-to-wire as No. 1. The Seminoles went 45-4 during Warrick’s career.

The 68th National Football Foundation Annual Awards Dinner and Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held Dec. 8 at the Bellagio Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Warrick will also be honored during a game at Doak Campbell Stadium during the 2026 season.
