Oregon Dealt Unfortunate News After Dante Moore’s Announcement

It’s been a big week for the Oregon football program.

After losing to Indiana in the College Football Playoff semifinals last week, Oregon quarterback Dante Moore announced on Wednesday that he’d be returning to school for another year. It’s a big deal for the program since the team is chasing a national title next year.

Oregon will also have former Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola as Moore’s backup for the 2026 season before the former likely takes over as the starter in 2027. Raiola transferred to Oregon after entering the portal.

However, the Ducks did lose a quarterback to the transfer portal on Wednesday. According to On3’s Chris Low, quarterback Bryson Beaver is entering the portal as a short-term signee.

Beaver was a four-star recruit in the 2026 recruiting class and the No. 19 recruit in California, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He was also the No. 12 quarterback recruit in the country and the No. 174 overall recruit.

The Ducks are set at quarterback for at least the next two seasons, so Beaver will try to find a program that can offer him a quicker path to playing time.

The Ducks are running it back in 2026 in the hopes of winning a national title. They’ve had two outstanding back-to-back seasons, but haven’t climbed to the top of the mountain yet.

Dan Lanning is set to be in his fifth season as the Ducks’ head coach. He’s 48-8 overall and has won 26 games over the last two seasons.
