Sectional championship week is finally here for IHSAA football. With all other fall sports seasons over, football is the main focus. The eight South Bend area teams remaining look to be the team to win the area’s first football state title in 20 years.
The South Bend Tribune’s Kyle Smedley will be at Freed Field to see if Penn can beat Crown Point and win its first football sectional under head coach Pete Riordan. Scott Davidson of the South Bend Tribune will be at Steele Stadium in a battle between Mishawaka, a program that has won six of its last seven football sectionals, and South Bend Saint Joseph, a program that hasn’t won one since 2015.

CLASS 6A: Crown Point at Penn, 7:30 p.m. ET
CLASS 5A: Concord at FW North, 7:30 p.m.
CLASS 5A: Michigan City at La Porte, 8 p.m. ET
CLASS 4A: South Bend Saint Joseph at Mishawaka, 7 p.m.
CLASS 3A: Mishawaka Marian at Knox, 7:30 p.m. ET
CLASS 1A: West Central at LaVille, 7 p.m.
