After initially being willing to stay with the Penn State Nittany Lions for 2026, wide receiver Tyseer Denmark has found a new…albeit familiar, home in the transfer portal.
Tonight, Denmark announced that much like several other former Nittany Lions players, he will be following James Franklin to Blacksburg to play for Virginia Tech. Denmark is still a redshirt freshman, who ultimately flipped from Oregon to the Nittany Lions before his transfer decision.
The former Penn State product did not get much substantial playing time with the Nittany Lions, with only four career catches for 45 yards and a touchdown. He ultimately flamed out after receiving much praise in his two years with Penn State.
He joins a group of players moving to Blacksburg that includes former Louisiana Tech man Marlion Jackson, Duke Blue Devil Que’Sean Brown, and fellow Penn State transfer Jeff Exinor Jr.
The Philadelphia native was formerly a three star recruit in the class of 2024, receiving offers form the likes of Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, and Georgia. He was the No. 1,554 player in the entire class.
He is also now the 12th player to join Franklin at Virginia Tech from Penn State. He follows in the footsteps of QB Ethan Grunkemeyer, who also announced his decision to transfer to Virginia Tech today.
