It’ll be a bit of a full-circle moment in Tuscaloosa this weekend.
According to Rivals’ Adam Gorney, 2028 quarterback Knox Kiffin, the son of Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin, will visit Alabama on Saturday for the Crimson Tide’s showdown with LSU.

Knox, a 6-foot-2, 170-pound sophomore, is already making noise as having potential to be top young quarterback in the country.
The Oxford (Miss.) High School standout just wrapped up a strong regular season, guiding his team to a 27-21 win over Starkville on Nov. 6. In just thee career starts, he threw for 199 yards and four touchdowns on 12 completions.
Though he’s only a sophomore, Knox has already drawn eight Division I offers, including SMU, Western Kentucky, Arkansas State, and East Carolina. His development has naturally drawn plenty of attention, not just because of his famous last name, but because of his talent and poise under center.
Still, it’s hard not to connect the dots between the Kiffin family and Alabama. Lane Kiffin, of course, served as Alabama’s offensive coordinator from 2014 to 2016, helping lead the Crimson Tide to a national championship and developing one of the most explosive offenses in program history. His time under Nick Saban played a major role in reshaping his coaching career and influencing his now-signature offensive style.
Now, nearly a decade later, his son will be on the same sideline Lane once commanded, but this time as a recruit.
It’s a fascinating twist of football fate. While Knox’s journey is just beginning, and Lane is firmly entrenched at Ole Miss, it’s not hard to imagine a world where the Kiffin name once again surfaces in Tuscaloosa.
Whether that’s through Knox’s recruitment or, someday, Lane himself returning in some capacity. And maybe, just maybe, one day, the two of them will once again find themselves in Tuscaloosa at the same time. Time will tell.
For now, though, all eyes will be on the younger Kiffin this weekend, as Alabama hosts LSU in one of college football’s biggest matchups. And Knox gets an up-close look at the program his father once helped shape.
