OU football transfer portal tracker live updates: Incomings, outgoings for Sooners

It’s closing time for coach Brent Venables and the Oklahoma Sooners with the college football transfer portal window is nearing its end.

The 15-day period for players to enter ends Jan. 15, although there’s an extra five-day window (Jan. 20-24) for Indiana and Miami since they’re playing in the College Football Playoff championship Monday night.

Even though the outbound transfer portal closes Friday, Jan. 16 for the Sooners and everyone other than the CFP finalists, players can still commit to new teams after that deadline.

Arrivals for OU football in transfer portal

Jack Van Dorselaer, tight end (Tennessee)

Former Tennessee true freshman tight end Jack Van Dorselaer has committed to the Sooners, he announced Jan. 16.

Dorselaer is a 6-foot-5, 245-pound tight end from Southlake, Texas. He logged five catches for 23 yards and a touchdown for the Volunteers in 2025, playing in every game. 

Bishop Thomas, defensive tackle (Georgia State)

Oklahoma football added some defensive line depth through the transfer portal on Jan. 12.

The Sooners landed a commitment from Georgia State defensive tackle Bishop Thomas, according to multiple reports. Thomas visited OU this past weekend.

The 6-foot-2, 290-pound New Orleans native played one season at Florida State, one season at Colorado and two seasons with the Panthers. He saw action in all 12 games for Georgia State in 2025, totaling 48 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.

Mackenzie Alleyne, wide receiver (Washington State)

Oklahoma football added a third transfer wide receiver on Jan. 11.

Former Washington State receiver Mackenzie Alleyne committed to the Sooners, he announced on Instagram.

At 6-foot-1, 185 pounds, Alleyne totaled four catches for 73 yards and a touchdown in 2025.

Peyton Joseph, offensive lineman (Georgia Tech)

Georgia Tech offensive lineman Peyton Joseph committed to Oklahoma, he announced on Jan. 10.

Joseph spent his freshman season with the Yellowjackets and didn’t appear in a game. He has four years of eligibility remaining.

Joseph, a 6-foot-4, 305-pound former four-star prospect visited the Sooners on Jan. 9 after visiting Tulane on Jan. 8.

Cole Sullivan, linebacker (Michigan)

Michigan linebacker Cole Sullivan has committed to Oklahoma, ESPN reported on Jan. 7.

Sullivan has been with the Wolverines for the past two seasons, appearing in 23 games. He worked his way up from second string to starter by the end of the year.

Sullivan, a Pittsburgh native, tallied 44 tackles in 2025. The 6-foot-3, 230-pound defender also tallied five tackles for loss, three interceptions, two sacks, a forced fumble and fumble recovery.

Kenny Ozowalu, defensive tackle (UTSA)

 Oklahoma landed a defensive tackle who received interest from a flurry of SEC programs on Jan. 6.

After hosting him on campus, the Sooners garnered a commitment from former UTSA defensive tackle Kenny Ozowalu, ESPN reported. Ozowalu also visited Texas.

The 6-foot-4, 270 pound tackle has three years of eligibility remaining. 

Parker Livingstone, wide receiver (Texas)

Oklahoma landed a commitment from Texas transfer wide receiver Parker Livingstone, he announced Jan. 6.

Livingstone, a top-15 receiver in the portal, is transferring to the other side of the Red River and will have three more years of eligibility.

The 6-foot-4, 191-pound redshirt freshman caught 26 passes for 516 yards and six touchdowns.

Dakoda Fields, defensive back (Oregon)

Oklahoma’s busy transfer portal day continued on Jan. 5.

The Sooners landed a commitment from Oregon transfer defensive back Dakoda Fields. The 6-foot-2, 198-pound corner will have 3 years of eligibility remaining.

Fields provides depth and size to OU’s cornerbacks unit and is a former top-100 recruit.

Rocky Beers, tight end (Colorado State)

Oklahoma landed another tight end transfer.

One day after garnering a commitment from former Florida tight end Hayden Hansen, the Sooners landed Colorado State tight end Rocky Beers on Jan. 5. Beers is the older brother of Sooners women’s basketball star Raegan Beers.

Beers visited Florida State and OU this past weekend and ultimately chose the Sooners.

Lloyd Avant, running back (Colorado State)

Oklahoma landed a commitment from Colorado State transfer running back Lloyd Avant on Jan. 5, his agent told The Oklahoman.

Avant visited the Sooners this past weekend.

The 5-foot-10, 210-pound CSU standout rushed for 417 yards and five touchdowns in 2025. 

E’Marion Harris, offensive lineman (Arkansas)

Oklahoma landed a starting SEC offensive lineman in the transfer portal on Jan. 5. 

Arkansas transfer E’Marion Harris announced his commitment to the Sooners via Instagram. He started every game at right tackle for the Razorbacks this past season.

Trell Harris, wide receiver (Virginia)

 Oklahoma landed a commitment from Virginia transfer wide receiver Trell Harris on Jan. 5.

Harris, an All-ACC honoree and a top-15 receiver in the portal, will have one year of eligibility.

Caleb Nitta, offensive lineman (Western Kentucky)

Oklahoma picked up an offensive line commitment out of the transfer portal on Jan. 5.

The Sooners landed Western Kentucky transfer Caleb Nitta, he announced. The former Virginia Tech lineman was one of the highest-graded group of five centers last season with a 69.2 Pro Football Focus grade.

OU’s second transfer portal commitment provides coach Brent Venables with depth at offensive line after losing six offensive linemen to the portal.

Hayden Hansen, tight end (Florida)

OU football added one of its top targets in the transfer portal on Jan. 4.

The Sooners landed a commitment from former Florida tight end Hayden Hansen, he announced.

The 6-foot-7, 269-pound standout caught 30 passes for 254 yards and two touchdowns this past season.

Departures for OU football in transfer portal

Zion Ragins, wide receiver (Mississippi State)

Oklahoma redshirt freshman wide receiver Zion Ragins plans to enter the portal, CBS Sports reported Jan. 7.

Ragins started five games as a true freshman in 2024 and redshirted in 2025. He’s a former four-star recruit.

Jaydan Hardy, defensive back (Colorado)

Oklahoma defensive back Jaydan Hardy has entered the transfer portal, he announced on Jan. 7.

Hardy is a former four-star recruit in the 2024 class who tallied 11 tackles and an interception this past season.

Sammy Omosigho, linebacker (UCLA)

The junior from Heartland, Texas, is entering the transfer portal, he announced Wednesday via Instagram.

Omosigho joins linebacker Kobie McKinzie and defensive lineman Markus Strong as expected defensive contributors in 2026 to enter the portal. 

Omosigho didn’t start a game this past season but appeared in all of them. The third-year player tallied 50 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, two sacks and a fumble recovery.

Ivan Carreon, wide receiver

Oklahoma wide receiver Ivan Carreon has entered the transfer portal, he announced Jan. 6.

Carreon, a former consensus four-star recruit, played in 21 games in two seasons with the Sooners and caught 12 passes for 124 yards.

Javonnie Gibson, wide receiver

Following Trell Harris and Parker Livingstone’s commitments to OU, Gibson is entering the portal, On3 reported Jan. 6.

Gibson appeared in nine games for the Sooners after breaking his leg during spring ball.

Zion Kearney, wide receiver

Oklahoma sophomore wide receiver Zion Kearney is entering the transfer portal, CBS Sports reported Jan. 5.

Kearney recorded 10 receptions for 159 yards and a touchdown in his two seasons as a Sooner.

Taylor Tatum, running back

Oklahoma running back Taylor Tatum plans to enter the transfer portal, he announced Friday.

Tatum spent two seasons with the Sooners and struggled to stay healthy this year, recording only one carry. He finished his career with 57 carries for 277 yards and three touchdowns. 

The Longview, Texas, native was a consensus four-star and top-60 national recruit.

Markus Strong, defensive lineman

Oklahoma defensive lineman Markus Strong plans to enter the transfer portal, On3 reported on Dec. 31.

Strong was expected to play a role on the Sooners’ defensive line next season.

The 6-foot-3, 297-pound lineman recorded four career tackles for loss and three sacks.

Strong will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Jake Taylor, offensive lineman (Iowa State)

Oklahoma offensive lineman Jake Taylor is entering the transfer portal, CBS Sports reported on Dec. 31.

The 6-foot-6, 315-pound lineman has struggled to stay healthy throughout his Sooners career.

Taylor was a starter for OU at one point.

Carson Kent, tight end

Oklahoma tight end Carson Kent plans to enter the transfer portal, On3 reported on Dec. 31.

The 6-foot-4, 247-pound tight end is a former All-Conference USA performer with 44 career receptions for 408 yards and three touchdowns.

He’ll be a graduate transfer with one year of eligibility remaining.

KJ Daniels, wide receiver

Oklahoma wide receiver KJ Daniels plans to enter the transfer portal, On3 reported on Dec. 31.

Daniels never appeared in a game in two seasons.

He’s a former three-star recruit from Franklinton, Louisiana.

Josiah Martin, wide receiver

Oklahoma wide receiver Josiah Martin plans to enter the transfer portal, ESPN reported on Dec. 31.

Martin transferred from Cal this past offseason and appeared in two games for the Sooners.

Logan Howland, offensive lineman

Oklahoma offensive lineman Logan Howland plans to enter the transfer portal, On3 reported on Dec. 31.

Howland played in five games this past season and was a starter at one point.

The Sooners have now lost five depth pieces on the offensive line.

Gentry Williams, cornerback

Oklahoma cornerback Gentry Williams plans to enter the transfer portal, On3 reported on Dec. 31.

Williams struggled to stay healthy throughout his career with the Sooners.

The three-year starter recorded 47 tackles and four interceptions in 30 career games.

Michael Hawkins Jr., quarterback

Oklahoma backup quarterback Michael Hawkins Jr. plans to enter the transfer portal, he announced on Dec. 31.

Hawkins started five games and appeared in nine during his two seasons for the Sooners. He completed 62% of his passes for 950 yards, six touchdowns and two interceptions during his OU career.

He has three seasons of eligibility remaining.

Maliek Hawkins, cornerback

Oklahoma cornerback Maliek Hawkins plans to enter the transfer portal.

Hawkins, a freshman this past season, is a former four-star recruit out of Emerson High School in Texas.

He’ll have four years of eligibility remaining.

Devon Jordan, cornerback

Oklahoma cornerback Devon Jordan plans to enter the transfer portal, CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz reported Dec. 31.

The Tulsa native played in every game this season and recorded 16 tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack.

Jordan is a former four-star recruit out of Union High School.

Luke Baklenko, offensive lineman

Oklahoma offensive lineman Luke Baklenko plans to enter the transfer portal, he announced Dec. 31.

Baklenko, who transferred to the Sooners from Stanford last offseason, appeared in 12 games for OU this past season.

The Sooners seem to have their starting offensive line set for next season and it was expected that depth pieces would transfer.

Troy Everett, offensive lineman

Oklahoma offensive lineman Troy Everett plans to enter the transfer portal, he announced Dec. 29.

Everett, a team captain, began the season as the Sooners’ starting center before suffering a season-ending knee injury after the opener. He played in eight games and started each of the last seven at center last season.

Marcus Wimberly, safety

Safety Marcus Wimberly plans to enter the transfer portal, he announced on Dec. 26.

A true freshman this past season, Wimberly didn’t appear in a game.

The Bauxite, Arkansas, native is a former four-star prospect who chose OU over Arkansas, Oregon and others.

Jovantae Barnes, running back (Kentucky)

As expected, Oklahoma football running back Jovantae Barnes plans to enter the transfer portal, he announced Dec. 23.

Barnes spent four seasons with the Sooners. He finished his career with 294 carries for 1,281 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Barnes last played against Auburn on Sept. 20 and coach Brent Venables said late in the season that he was in ā€œgood standingā€ with the team.

Jacob Sexton, offensive lineman

As expected, OU football offensive lineman Jacob Sexton plans to enter the transfer portal, On3 reported Dec. 23.

Sexton battled injuries throughout his Sooners career. He started OU’s season opener this past year against Illinois State but sustained a knee injury that sidelined him for the rest of 2025.

The Edmond native and Deer Creek High School standout was a consensus four-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting class.

Kaden Helms, tight end

Helms plans to enter the transfer portal, his agent told On3 on Dec. 22.

Helms, a former consensus four-star recruit, battled injury throughout his Sooners career, missing the entirety of 2023, five games in 2024 and four games this season.

Tight end is a position OU is expected to aggressively target in the portal.

Isaiah Dent, offensive lineman

Dent announced his intention to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 22.

A former consensus three-star recruit, Dent’s lone appearance at OU came last season against Maine. The Sooners are expected to lose some depth pieces throughout the offensive line.

Kobie McKinzie, linebacker

OU linebacker Kobie McKinzie plans to enter the transfer portal, he told On3 on Dec. 21.

The 6-foot-2, 236-pound veteran’s decision to enter the portal was a bit of a surprising one, given he’s been a core piece of the Sooners’ rebuild and could enter the NFL Draft. He has one year of eligibility remaining.

McKinzie was the first OU player to declare intentions to enter the portal since the Sooners lost to Alabama in the first round of the College Football Playoff on Dec. 19. Over his four seasons in the program, McKinzie recorded 84 tackles, 10 1/2 tackles for loss and 2 1/2 sacks.

Kendel Dolby, defensive back

As expected, OU defensive back Kendel Dolby plans to enter the transfer portal, he announced on Dec. 17.

After transferring to the Sooners from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M prior to the 2023 season, Dolby totaled 68 tackles, three sacks and two interceptions. Dolby showed flashes of excellence at OU coach Brent Venables’ famed hybrid cheetah position last season before sustaining a season-ending injury.

Dolby appeared in four games this season after returning from injury, but was a late “out” addition to the Sooners‘ availability report ahead of their game against South Carolina in October and never played again.

Jayden Gibson, wide receiver

Sooners coach Brent Venables said Oct. 15 on the weekly SEC teleconference that wide receiver Jayden Gibson was no longer with the team.

Not long after, Gibson announced he planned to enter the transfer portal.

Gibson, who suffered a season-ending knee injury last August during training camp and sustained a setback prior to the start of practice this past spring, was expected to return to the field early this season. He never did.

Meet the OU football All-transfer team

It’s easy to lose track of players in this transfer portal era. Here are the ex-Sooners who made our All-OU transfer team. We’ll do OSU next week. 

OFFENSE

QB Chandler Morris (OU → TCU → North Texas → Virginia): Threw for 3,000 yards and 16 touchdowns while leading Virginia to the ACC title game. Morris appeared in five games for the Sooners in 2020. He had two rushing touchdowns. 

RB Hollywood Smothers (OU → NC State → ?): Smothers led the ACC with 85 rushing yards per game. He averaged almost 6 yards per carry. Smothers is back in the portal. He had 11 carries for 42 yards at OU in 2023. 

WR Brenen Thompson (Texas → OU → Mississippi State): Thompson, who followed coach Jeff Lebby from OU to Mississippi State, was the SEC’s leading receiver with 1,054 yards. He set Mississippi State’s single-season receiving record. 

WR Jalil Farooq (OU → Maryland): The four-year Sooner had a career-high 58 receptions for the Terrapins. 

WR Gavin Freeman (OU → OSU): Freeman led the Cowboys in catches (53), receiving yards (481) and receiving touchdowns (four). 

TE Bauer Sharp (SE Louisiana → OU → LSU): Sharp had 252 receiving yards and two touchdowns for the Tigers. He led the Sooners in receptions and receiving yards last season. 

OL Savion Byrd (OU → SMU): SMU’s starting left tackle, Byrd made four starts for OU at left guard in 2023. 

OL Eugene Brooks (OU → UCLA): Brooks started 11 games at left guard for the Bruins after redshirting last season at OU. 

OL Joshua Bates (OU → SMU): Bates started every game at center for the Mustangs. He made two starts in two seasons at OU. 

OL Geirean Hatchett (Washington → OU → Washington): Hatchett, back at Washington, started 13 games at right guard. Hatchett played in one game at OU in 2024 before undergoing season-ending surgery. 

OL Cayden Green (OU → Missouri): Green graded out as the 16th-best tackle in the country, according to PFF. The former Sooner announced that he’s forgoing the NFL draft to return to Missouri next season.

DEFENSE

DL Clayton Smith (OU → Arizona State): Smith had four sacks for the Sun Devils. He played three years at Arizona State after two at OU. 

DL Noah Arinze (OU → New Mexico State → Coastal Carolina): Arinze had a career-high 27 tackles and two sacks. He played in one game in two seasons with the Sooners. 

DL Kelvin Gilliam Jr. (OU → Virginia Tech): Gilliam made 12 starts in his second season with the Hokies. 

LB Dasan McCullough (Indiana → OU → Nebraska): McCullough, a two-year Sooner, had two sacks and 21 tackles for the Cornhuskers. 

LB Lewis Carter (OU → UCF): Carter thrived as a full-time starter for the Knights. He led UCF with 92 tackles after combining for 30 tackles in his two seasons at OU. 

LB Shane Whitter (OU → North Texas): Whitter ranked fifth on North Texas in tackles. He mainly played on special teams in his four seasons with the Sooners. 

DB Kani Walker (Louisville → OU → Arkansas): Walker had a pick-six for the Hogs against Auburn. 

DB Damond Harmon (OU → Liberty): Harmon had 48 tackles and one interception for the Flames.

DB Joshua Eaton (OU → Texas State → Michigan State): Eaton made eight starts for the Spartans. 

DB DJ Graham II (OU → Utah State → Kansas): Graham’s interception against Nebraska in 2021 was an all-timer. He had two picks for Utah State last season but none this season for Kansas. 

DB Key Lawrence (Tennessee → OU → Ole Miss → UCLA): Four schools in six years for the journeyman safety. Lawrence had a career-high 70 tackles this season. He forced two fumbles and had one interception.
