West Virginia transfer OL Donovan Haslam commits to Tennessee

Tennessee has added some depth to its offensive line this morning, picking up a commitment from former West Virginia offensive guard Donovan Haslam. The 6-4, 330 pound lineman was on campus on Thursday this week, taking in Knoxville and visiting with coaches. A couple days later, he’s made the decision to wear the orange and white.

Haslam is Tennessee’s 12th addition out of the transfer portal so far and the second on the offensive line. He played 444 snaps for West Virginia last season, spending time all over the offensive line for the Mountaineers. Haslam made five starts last season after spending three seasons with Austin Peay before that. After just finishing up his redshirt junior season, Haslam should have one year remaining with Tennessee.

Tennessee has returning starters Jesse Perry and Wendell Moe returning next season. LSU transfer tackle Ory Williams is expected to slide in at right tackle, with 5-star freshman Gabriel Osenda also maybe in that mix. Haslam provides Glen Elarbee with some competitive depth though, which is always a must as we’ve seen before.

Haslam is a guy that can provide Tennessee with some insurance at both guard spots, along with maybe some ability at right tackle as well.

Expect a few more moves for Tennessee as early as this weekend with more visitors on campus today. The Volunteers still have needs at quarterback, running back, defensive line and cornerback.
