One of Penn State football's most important traditions still does not have a date.

Penn State football have yet to announce a date for the Blue White Game in 2026. While it was confirmed yesterday that the Blue White weekend would still be taking place, it remains to be seen when and whether or not they will change some things around.

The April scrimmage is usually decided on a date by mid-December, but due to the transition between head coaches(as Matt Campbell's hiring was announced on Dec. 5)- the announcement has subsequently been delayed.

According to a spokesperson for the athletic department, "“Penn State Athletics plans to host Blue-White Weekend this spring, with the exact date still to be determined. "The timing of this year’s announcement has been delayed due to the recent coaching change and the logistics involved in finalizing plans".

While the athletic department makes it clear that there will be some even to celebrate Blue White weekend, they did not specify whether or not the announcement of the dates would also include the announcement of the game.

Blue White Weekend is one of Penn State's most treasured football traditions, giving fans, alumni and players alike a unique opportunity to both visit campus and showcase what the team could look like come the start of the season. Festivities include a block party and autograph sessions with the players.

The first Blue White game took place under coach Rip Engle in 1951. Only about 500 people attended then, but by the mid '80s, thousands of people paid to watch it.
