Alabama football’s 2026 roster is still coming together. But the Crimson Tide does have a clearer picture of who will take the field Saturday, Sept. 5 against East Carolina.
With the NCAA transfer portal period complete, the departures from the Crimson Tide roster are set. New roster pieces are beginning to float in, giving Alabama an idea of what its depth chart could look like once winter workouts begin.
Here’s a look at where the Alabama offense stands.
Alabama quarterback
- Austin Mack
- Keelon Russell
- Jett Thomalla
- Tayden Kaawa
After Ty Simpson left Alabama’s Rose Bowl loss to Indiana in the College Football Playoff, Austin Mack was the first quarterback off the bench. And until proven otherwise, Mack should be viewed as the leader of the Crimson Tide’s quarterback room, one that has more experience despite the ceiling and expectation of a player like former five-star Keelon Russell.
Alabama running back
- Daniel Hill
- Kevin Riley
- AK Dear
- Ezavier Crowell
Experience matters, at least as Alabama continues to build its 2026 roster. Ezavier Crowell has high expectations, expectations that could lead to first-team reps as a true freshmen. But in the winter months, and with players like Daniel Hill, Kevin Riley and even AK Dear back into the fold, Alabama will likely lean toward players with snaps of experience instead of solely potential, even if potential wins out by the end of the season.
Alabama wide receiver
- Ryan Williams (Starter)
- Lotzeir Brooks (Starter)
- Noah Rogers (Starter)
- Rico Scott
- Derek Meadows
- Cederian Morgan
Alabama already started adding depth to its wide receiver room after losing Isaiah Horton (Texas A&M), Jalen Hale (SMU) and Jaylen Mbakwe (Georgia Tech) to the transfer portal. Three-year ACC veteran Noah Rogers joined a room that seems set at the top with Ryan Williams and Lotzeir Brooks, along with receivers like Rico Scott, Derek Meadows and freshman Cederian Morgan. With a slim freshman class, the Crimson Tide should look to fill out the room with another portal addition or two.
Alabama tight end
- Kaleb Edwards
- Jay Lindsey
- Marshall Pritchett
- Danny Lewis Jr.
The very top of the depth chart is seemingly set with Kaleb Edwards, the former four-star who emerged as Josh Cuevas’ backup as a true freshman in 2025, one that was relied on in the passing game, at times, just like Cuevas was. Expectations should be high for Edwards, the sophomore. Young players like Jay Lindsey, Marshall Pritchett and Mack Sutter, the 2026 tight end at the top of Alabama’s wish list, brings hope to a room that is in a full blown youth movement.
Alabama offensive line
Left tackle
- Jackson Lloyd
- Ty Haywood
- Bryson Cooley
Left guard
- William Sanders
- Nick Brooks
- Chris Booker
Center
- Racin Delgatty
- Kaden Strayhorn
- Mal Waldrep Jr.
Right guard
- Ethan Fields
- Kaden Strayhorn
- Casey Poe
Right tackle
- Michael Carroll
- Jared Doughty
- Bear Fretwell
Alabama lost quite a few pieces on its offensive line, leaving Michael Carroll as the only returning starter from the 2025 squad. But the Crimson Tide has turned its roster around during the portal period, adding players like Nick Brooks, Kaden Strayhorn and Ty Haywood: players with relative inexperience, but potential and multiple seasons of eligibility. Alabama seems to have its starter to replace Parker Brailsford in Cal Poly transfer Racin Delgatty, who has multiple seasons of eligibility. Alabama does not have a set offensive line yet in 2026. It has pieces to play around with. Finding the right five will be a key storyline by season’s start. But the pieces in the running seem to be coming together.
