Texas A&M cracks top 10 of USA TODAY's Too-Early 2026 Top 25 Rankings

The 2025-2026 college football season concludes on Monday night, but it is never too early to look ahead at how next year's campaign could shape out.
In USA TODAY's Too-Early Top 25, the Texas A&M Aggies were ranked at No. 8, following one of the most historic seasons in program history. In his third year at the helm, head coach Mike Elko led his team to an 11-0 start for the first time since 1992. While the 2026 campaign ended with a loss in the first round of the CFP against the Miami Hurricanes at Kyle Field, there were various promising signs for the future of the program in Bryan-College Station, Texas.
Here are the full projected rankings, with another season of college football officially in the books at the conclusion of Monday's national title game between Indiana and Miami:

Texas A&M got a massive headstart toward building another roster stacked with potential game-changing talent. According to On3 Sports 2026 College Football Team Transfer Portal Rankings, the Aggies are ranked No. 3 with 18 players transferring to College Station and a 45 index score. Six four-star recruits have made their decision to play for the Maroon and White next year official, as Elko looks to get his team back to the national championship conversation.
The Aggies are set to open next season against Missouri State on Saturday, Sep. 5, with SEC contests against Kentucky, LSU, Arkansas, Missouri, Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Texas on deck for the first nine-game conference slate.
