MIAMI — Indiana football came through with a blocked punt for a touchdown in the third quarter of the CFP championship game on Monday night.
The No. 1 Hoosiers (15-0) special teams units have lived up to their name this season.
Indiana defensive end Mikail Kamara blocked the punt and linebacker Isaiah Jones recovered it in the end zone to give their team a 17-7 lead with 5:04 to go in the third. It was the second blocked punt in as many games for the Hoosiers.

Indiana football is now tied for fourth in the FBS with four blocked kicks on the season, all of them are punts. The Hoosiers special teams units have consistently come through in big moments like when D'Angelo Ponds set the stage for a blowout win over Illinois.
Defensive end Daniel Ndwuke came through with a punt block in the Peach Bowl that put an exclamation point on a blowout win over Oregon. He blocked two punts as a true freshman in 2024.
