Micah's Week 11 Big Ten bold predictictions

This week in the Big Ten will feature one of the best games this weekend of college football: Oregon versus Iowa. There are other games with potential to be classics. This week should feature great quarterback play, with young quarterbacks such as Malik Washington having a chance to do something very special.

Here are my Week 11 bold predictions for Big Ten football:

Malik Washington will go off Saturday

It has been some time since Malik Washington’s last big game. Rutgers’ defense could be the perfect matchup for him to have a special game. This game will be a shootout, and both offenses are not strangers to putting up big points. This game will not be a defensive game by any means. Washington is a young quarterback who needs experience, but his big arm talent and his star ability help him out of situations. Whichever offense can avoid turnovers in this game will come out with the victory. I think Washington and Maryland will get the much-needed victory. I expect Washington to throw 3 passing touchdowns and reach 300 yards passing for the first time this season. Athan Kaliakmanis, on the other hand, will throw a costly interception.

Iowa will give Oregon a scare

Oregon is a 6-point favorite in this game, and that might be a little generous. This game will go down to the wire and it will take the Ducks everything to pull out a win. Indiana was taken to the brink versus Iowa. Indiana won 20-15, and that was their most challenging game of the season, other than Oregon. Iowa has one of the best defenses in the country and a perfect complement in a great run game. Oregon did not bode well against Indiana’s tough defense, in that game which Dante Moore Jr. put up his worst performance. Iowa is hosting this game, which is one of the toughest places to play in the country. This is a great baseline test for how good Oregon is and how dangerous Iowa is. This game will have significant playoff implications, and Oregon will have its hands full with one of the best Iowa teams in history. No matter what the outcome is, I am certain that this game will be a classic.

Dante Moore Jr. plays elite again

It has been quite some time since Oregon’s biggest win of the season versus Penn State. A lot has happened since that game, proving that the win no longer has as much meaning. Dante Moore was great in that game and the biggest reason why the Ducks won. He will have to tap into that again to beat a challenging Iowa Hawkeyes football team. Oregon will face their biggest challenge this week since Indiana, and albeit that game was close, Indiana still confidently won. Dante Moore will look to avenge that game as well and remind college football that he is a top quarterback in the country. This game will be close versus Iowa, but Dante Moore will put a game-winning drive together and throw the game-winning pass to end it. The Ducks will need Dante Moore to be the reason they win this game, and I think he will be.

TJ Lateef will lead the Cornhuskers to victory in his first start

It will be his first career start, but Lateef displayed some positive things in last week’s loss against USC. Lateef at least has a good matchup against a getable defense in UCLA in his first start. He also has a great running back at his side to lean on. Matt Rhule will ensure that Lateef will be in the best position to succeed as much as possible. Given that Lateef had a full week to prepare for UCLA, I think he will put together a good enough performance to get the Cornhuskers a victory. UCLA was humbled last week, and the magic that had run its course. Nebraska has enough talent in this game, regardless of how close it is to coming out on top. Lateef will be at the forefront of the reasons for victory in this game.

Desmond Williams has another 4 touchdown game

Demond Williams is coming off a dominant 4 touchdown game versus Illinois, and although it was a home game, that game Williams will still carry that success into this week’s game versus the Badgers. The Badgers are retaining Luke Fickell next season, and that will prove to be a poor decision in this game. The Huskies will steamroll the Badgers, and Williams will display his Heisman candidate-level talent with 4 total touchdowns. Williams will keep the Huskies playoff hopes alive with a big Big Ten victory.
