Oklahoma football heads into its final bye week with some momentum ahead of the final stretch of the season.
The No. 12 Sooners (7-2, 3-2 SEC) are coming off a 33-27 win on the road at Tennessee, putting themselves back in the College Football Playoff conversation.
Oklahoma’s bye week comes at an opportune time, as well, as it looks to get back a few players from injury. It played without starting linebacker Kobie McKinzie and offensive tackle Derek Simmons against the Vols and also lost star edge rusher R Mason Thomas after his 71-yard touchdown return.
The extra week of preparation also comes ahead of perhaps its biggest game of the season.

Is Oklahoma playing this week?
Oklahoma is off in Week 11 of the season after its impressive 33-27 road win over Tennessee on Nov. 1.
It’s the Sooners’ second and final off week of the season. Oklahoma was also off Sept. 27, ahead of games against Kent State and Texas.
The Week 11 off week comes at a great time, giving Oklahoma an extra week to prepare for its road game against No. 4 Alabama, which has won seven games in a row and leads the country with four ranked wins.
