The 2025 college football season may have just ended on Monday, but it is already time to turn the page to 2026. While head coach Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes wrapped up an impressive transfer portal class, the Big 12 Conference released each team’s schedule with dates on Wednesday morning.

We already knew the Buffaloes’ nonconference slate, which features two road games (at Georgia Tech, Sept. 5 and at Northwestern, Sept. 19). Now we know the full conference slate, including bye weeks and most challenging stretches. Time and TV designations will be announced closer to each game.

Colorado Buffaloes 2026 Schedule

  • Sept. 5 at Georgia Tech
  • Sept. 12 vs. Weber State
  • Sept. 19 at Northwester
  • Sept. 26 at Baylor
  • Oct. 3 vs. Texas Tech
  • BYE
  • Oct. 17 vs. Utah
  • Oct. 24 at Oklahoma State
  • Oct. 31 vs. Kansas State
  • Nov. 7 at Arizona State
  • Nov. 14 vs. Houston
  • Nov. 21 at Cincinnati
  • Nov. 28 vs. Central Florida

Colorado begins the season with arguably its toughest portion of the schedule. Three of the first four games on the road, and all three are Power Four programs. No other Big 12 team plays three road games in September. The last time Colorado played two Power Four programs in the nonconference portion was in 1994, when CU played at Michigan and at Texas back-to-back. The Buffs would go on to finish No. 2 in the final AP Poll. Big 12 play does not get any easier, beginning with a road game against Baylor, followed by two home games against two of the top teams in the conference: Texas Tech and Utah.

The Buffs’ lone bye week, which they had two in 2025, will come relatively early (weekend of Oct. 10) in between difficult home games against Texas Tech and Utah. CU will then alternate home and away conference games until the end of the season, where they wrapped up hosting the UCF Knights on Nov. 28.

Colorado will not face Arizona, BYU, Iowa State, Kansas, TCU and West Virginia during the upcoming regular season.
