Texas A&M’s coaching staff is out West this week checking in on some of the top prospects in California.
Gardena (Calif.) Junipero Serra four-star cornerback Duvay Williams is giving the Aggies a hard look. This week, Williams was visited by A&M secondary coach Bryant Gross-Armiento:
It’s a jam-packed race for the 5-foot-11, 150-pounder. USC currently has the edge in the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine, but the Trojans are far from the lone contender at the top of Williams’ recruitment.
Texas A&M was one of the many programs that got Williams on campus during the 2025 season. Under head coach Mike Elko, the Aggies have recruited the Golden State very well to date.
In the 2026 cycle, A&M landed Spring Valley Mount Miguel five-star cornerback Brandon Arrington, Bellflower St. John Bosco four-star wide receiver Madden Williams and Carson Leuzinger four-star EDGE Samu Moala.
They’ve already dipped back into the state for their 2027 class, too. Last month, Los Angeles Ingelwood four-star DL Myels Smith locked in with the SEC program. He’s one of 10 early pledges for the Aggies.
Williams is the No. 36 overall prospect and No. 4 corner in the 2027 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 4 junior in the Golden State.
Indiana, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Texas and LSU are among the heap of programs that are also looking to stay in the mix as Williams continues to whittle down his list of top schools. The blue-chipper discussed his recruitment with Rivals’ Adam Gorney earlier this month ahead of the Navy All-American Bowl.
“I’m not paying attention to it. I’m going to do what’s best for me,” Williams said when asked about USC and his process. “USC was my top school when I was a kid but I want to keep everywhere I’m looking at to be open and not all about USC but USC is for sure at the top.”
A&M has already compiled an elite defensive back haul in the 2027 cycle. Each of the three highest-ranked commits in the fold are in the secondary. Hampton (Ga.) four-star safety Kamarui Dorsey, Waxahachie (Texas) four-star safety JayQuan Snell and Baltimore St. Frances Academy four-star cornerback Raylaun Henry are all top-50 overall prospects.
It’s early, but the Aggies currently have the No. 4 class in the cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. The full class can be seen here.
