Where ESPN ranks Georgia football in way-too-early top-25

The Georgia Bulldogs are among the top-five teams in ESPN’s way-too-early 2026 college football rankings. The Bulldogs return a strong roster that features quarterback Gunner Stockton, running back Nate Frazier, center Drew Bobo, tight end Lawson Luckie, safety KJ Bolden, cornerback Ellis Robinson, linebacker Raylen Wilson, defensive lineman Gabe Harris and more.

Georgia checks in as the No. 4 team in ESPN’s top-25. The Bulldogs are ranked behind No. 1 Indiana, No. 2 Texas and No. 3 Notre Dame. Georgia is just ahead of No. 5 Oregon, who rounds out the top-five.

The Bulldogs lost key players to the 2026 NFL draft in defensive tackle Christen Miller, cornerback Daylen Everette, tight end Oscar Delp, linebacker CJ Allen, wide receiver Zachariah Branch, and offensive tackle Monroe Freeling. ESPN’s Mel Kiper predicts that Georgia will have three first-round picks in the draft.

The Bulldogs supplemented their roster with nine transfer additions (fewest in the SEC). Georgia Tech receiver Isiah Canion, Auburn defensive lineman Amaris Williams and Clemson safety Khalil Barnes standout as Georgia’s three most notable portal additions.

In Georgia’s 2026 schedule, the Bulldogs will play three ranked opponents: No. 9 Ole Miss, No. 12 Oklahoma and No. 21 Alabama. ESPN’s Mark Schlabach notes that Georgia has to leave the Peach State just four times. He also highlights Georgia’s rebuilt secondary (mostly via the transfer portal) and Georgia’s group of young receivers as things to watch for UGA moving forward. The Bulldogs also lost receivers Colbie Young, Noah Thomas and Dillon Bell to the draft.
