CCISD names Brian Herman next head football coach at Ray

Corpus Christi ISD has announced veteran coach Brian Herman has been named the head football coach and athletic coordinator at Ray.

Herman most recently was an assistant at Georgetown and has head coaching stops at Eustace, Lockhart and Marble Falls.

His most recent head coaching role was at Marble Falls in 2023, when he capped a five-year run leading the program.

Herman’s career record is 65-75 with six playoff appearances in 13 years as a head coach. Marble Falls advanced to the third round of the playoffs in 2021, going 9-4. Herman’s first season at Eustace produced a 10-2 record in 2011.

He replaces Craig Charlton, who announced his retirement in November after 11 seasons leading the Texans, including a 5-6 record in 2025.
