STARKVILLE — Mississippi State football was unable to land Jordan Seaton in the transfer portal.

The 6-foot-5, 330-pound Seaton committed to LSU on Jan. 23. He’s ranked as the No. 4 player in the transfer portal by 247Sports and the No. 1 non-quarterback.

The offensive tackle from Colorado reportedly took his first visit to Mississippi State after entering the portal. He has a connection with MSU offensive line coach Phil Loadholt, who held that same position at Colorado in 2024 in Seaton’s freshman season.

Seaton also reportedly visited Miami and drew interest from Oregon.

Seaton started 13 games as a freshman and earned an All-Big 12 honorable mention. In 2025, he started nine games and was an All-Big 12 second team selection despite missing the final three games with an injury. He allowed only one sack, zero quarterback hits and five pressures in 2025.

Seaton was a five-star at IMG Academy and ranked as the No. 1 offensive tackle in the 2024 recruiting class by the 247Sports Composite. He’s originally from Washington, D.C.

Mississippi State plays at LSU, who is now coached by former Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin, on Oct. 17.

Where missing on Jordan Seaton leaves Mississippi State

The Bulldogs have gotten eight transfers already from offensive linemen, but none of them the same caliber as Seaton. The only one who was a starter in 2025 was UAB tackle Brandon Sneh, who committed to MSU on Jan. 21.

It will be a mostly revamped group that must improve in its protection of quarterback Kamario Taylor. Center Canon Boone is the only lineman to start multiple games in 2025 that will return. However, tackle Blake Steen, who suffered a season-ending injury in Week 1 after making the start, is back too.
