5-Star OL Jordan Seaton Chooses LSU Over Oregon in Transfer Portal Decision

Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks finished out the 2025 college football regular season with an 11-1 record, earning the No. 5 seed in the College Football Playoff. Oregon advanced all the way to the semifinals after taking down No. 12 seed James Madison and No. 4 seed Texas Tech, before suffering an ugly 56-22 loss to No. 1 seed Indiana in the Peach Bowl.

Now, Lanning and the Ducks have turned their attention to preparations for the 2026 season, with plenty of work still ahead. Oregon has already lost 28 players to the transfer portal while adding 12 newcomers, including former Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola. Yet Lanning had his sights set on an even bigger prize this week, but it did not work out.

Jordan Seaton, a 6-foot-5, 330-pound offensive tackle out of IMG Academy (Bradenton, Florida), was a five-star prospect in the class of 2024 (247Sports). He committed to play for Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes, spending two seasons in Boulder and earning himself an All-Big 12 nod in 2025.

But following the 2025 season, Seaton elected to enter the NCAA transfer portal, where he was ranked as a five-star yet again and the No. 4 overall prospect. He initially visited Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers on Sunday, before meeting with Lanning and his staff a couple of days later.

Yet on Friday, Seaton made a decision on his college football future, choosing LSU over Oregon and leaving Lanning without one of the top left tackles in the nation.

“To Coach Kiffin, LSU and State Of Louisiana Thank You For an Opportunity to chase Greatness – The Franchise,” Seaton wrote on Instagram.

Seaton now becomes the 40th transfer Kiffin has brought to LSU. He is also their third in the top five ranked transfers on 247Sports, joining former Arizona State quarterback Sam Leavitt (No. 1) and former Ole Miss defensive end Princewill Umanmielen (No. 5).
