Tennessee football offers 2027 four-star cornerback from Texas

Tennessee is recruiting toward its 2027 football signing class. The Vols offered a scholarship to four-star cornerback Taelyn Mayo.
“After a great conversation with coach Michael Hunter, I’m blessed to receive an offer from the University of Tennessee,” Mayo announced.
The 6-foot-3, 185-pound prospect is from Lewisville High School in Lewisville, Texas. 247Sports ranks Mayo as the No. 14 cornerback in the class and No. 16 player in Texas.
San Diego State was the first school to offer Mayo a scholarship on June 6, 2023. Other schools to offer him scholarships include Oregon, Arkansas State, Texas, USC, Texas A&M, UTSA, Florida State, Alabama, Sacramento State, Arizona, Oregon State, Baylor, Washington, Auburn, Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, Tulsa, Georgia, Miami, UCF, Oklahoma, LSU, Florida, Missouri, Kansas State and Ohio State.
Tennessee has four commitments in its 2027 football recruiting class: linebacker JP Peace, cornerback Kamauri Whitfield, offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo and defensive lineman Kadin Fife.
