Colorado football revamped much of its coaching staff following a 3-9 season. One of those new faces is tight ends coach Josh Niblett, who gave a passionate speech to the entire program during the first full-team meeting last week.

Niblett came to the front of the meeting room, donning a cowboy hat, and began to speak with passion for a full minute.

"Better is the key, man. That needs to be our word in here," Niblett exclaimed. "We're not worried about just being the best; we got to get better every day. A better 'you' makes a better 'CU.'"

Niblett clearly captured the room's attention, as the players' approval of his message could be heard in the video filmed by Deion Sanders Jr.

After four seasons as head coach and two 5A State Championship berths at Gainesville High School, Niblett decided this offseason to take the next step in his career. He brings 300 career wins from his time coaching high school football in Alabama and Georgia. He is widely regarded as one of the nation's elite high school coaches.

Clearly, Deion Sanders sees in Niblett a future college head coach and a fantastic leader of men. While he will only be tasked with leading the tight end room in Boulder, he could see his role increase if he stays on staff for more than a year.

He left the team with this gem before he left the front of the room.

"They thought they buried us, but they didn't know we were seeds. So remember that every day," Niblett said.
