Texas A&M (16-4, 6-1 SEC) continues to look like one of the best teams in the country after blowing out visiting South Carolina 92-69 on Saturday afternoon, led by senior forward Zach Clemence’s career-high 21 points and seven 3-pointers off the bench. Another balanced scoring effort, the Aggies shot 48% from the field and 44% from beyond the arc, hitting a conference-play record 17 threes.

The Aggies are extremely balanced, ranked sixth nationally in assists, while the relentless press defense that made national headlines after Wednesday’s 88-68 home win over Mississippi State doesn’t let up, no matter the score.

Over the last three games, senior guard Rylan Griffen has been the team’s most productive and reliable scorer and defender, scoring 48 points, nine threes, eight rebounds, and two blocks, starting with his 17-point second-half performance against the Texas Longhorns last Saturday night.

After scoring a season-high 23 points against the Bulldogs, senior forward Rashaun Agee produced 11 points and seven boards, and was highly effective on defense with a block and a steal. Alongside Rylan Griffen, this looks like the Aggies’ most reliable scoring duo, which will be vital heading into next month’s brutal stretch of SEC matchups.

However, the Aggies are sitting pretty atop the SEC standings after Florida dropped a home game against Auburn on Saturday, as Texas A&M is the only SEC team with six wins and just one loss heading into the final week of January play.
