Giants GM Joe Schoen, head coach John Harbaugh won’t attend Senior Bowl

New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen and head coach John Harbaugh will not attend the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala. this week, a source told Big Blue View.

Harbaugh was officially introduced as head coach less than a week ago, and the organization’s priority at this time is to complete Harbaugh’s coaching staff.

At present, the following hires have been made:

Offense

Todd Monken has been considered the likely hire as offensive coordinator, the position he held on Harbaugh’s Baltimore Ravens staff the past three seasons. Monken is a candidate for the Cleveland Browns’ head coaching job. Reports indicate that should he not get that job he is “widely expected” to join Harbaugh with the Giants.

The Senior Bowl is the premier college all-star game on the pre-draft calendar, and the last chance for draft prospects to show what they can do in pads. Practices will be held Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and the game will be played on Saturday.
