Former Tennessee football assistant will coach in Super Bowl LX

Conference championship week concluded Sunday in the NFL.
AFC champion New England and NFC champion Seattle advanced to Super Bowl LX on Feb. 8. The matchup will be contested at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Kickoff between the Seahawks and Patriots is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. EST and will be televised by NBC.
New England is in its first season with Mike Vrabel as head coach.
A former Tennessee assistant will coach in Super Bowl LX. Doug Marrone is also in his first season with the Patriots as an offensive line coach. He served as the Vols’ tight ends and offensive tackles coach in 2001 under head coach Phillip Fulmer.
Tennessee finished its 2001 season with an 11–2 (7–1 SEC) record and lost to LSU in the SEC championship game.
In the NFL, Marrone has been a head coach at Buffalo (2013-14) and Jacksonville (2016-20). He also served as head coach at Syracuse from 2009-12.
