We knew the opponents, we knew where, but now the ACC has announced the all important when. With an incoming transfer portal class of 26th new players, including 15 from fellow Power Four programs, the Eagles will be looking to quickly turn the chapter on the 2025 season.
September
Sept. 5th @ Cincinnati
Sept. 11th vs Rutgers (moved to Friday)
Sept. 19th vs Maine
Sept. 26th vs Virginia Tech
We already knew the first three games to start the season. Cincy finished 10th in the Big 12 and will be a good, early litmus test for the season. The Rutgers game was recently moved to Friday appropriately for the Red Bandana Game on the 25th anniversary. This will also be the return of Dylan Lonergan who transferred over to the Scarlet Knights. Former Maryland DB Kevyn Humes also flipped to Rutgers after initially committing to Bill O’Brien. I’m sure that won’t be forgotten. The Eagles get a reprieve vs Maine before opening ACC play against James Franklin’s Virginia Tech. Result: 3-1. The opener on the road is tricky with all the new faces, but O’Brien has generally started off seasons well. We’re not losing to Lonergan after that. Franklin’s Hokies are looking for a quick turnaround bringing in a top-20 ranked transfer class. 3-1 would be stellar.
October
Oct. 3rd @SMU
Oct. 10th BYE
Oct. 17th vs Pitt
Oct. 24th @ Georgia Tech
Oct. 31st @ Duke
Three road games in October, so good to have a bye week in there. SMU and Georgia Tech had strong portal recruitment. The Mustangs finished the year strong and are back with Kevin Jennings, but let’s see the Eagles finally get an ACC win against them. Then maybe we’ll top Pitt at home after the bye or perhaps more likely defending ACC champion Duke depending on how this Mensah situation plays out. The Devils on Halloween? Sign me up. Result: Blindly 2-2.
November
Nov. 7th vs Florida State
Nov. 14th @ Notre Dame
Nov. 21st vs Syracuse
Nov. 28th @ Miami
It’s a tough travel month, but hey at least the boys end in Miami against the CFP-runner ups. Notre Dame will be looking to dominate to make sure they don’t miss out again, Miami has reloaded and won’t be looking to mess their season up at the end. The best we can hope for is they’re already out of it and lost interest. Result: 1-3 Let’s go bowling, why not.
The program had some fun in the schedule release a la the NFL.
Way too early bowl projections
Military Bowl vs East Carolina for no reason other than this being the game that never was. We’re unsure if this game will maintain it’s conference tie-ins, but this is for zero stakes. 7 wins we’re BACK BABY.
