SOUTH BEND — Notre Dame football will be without tight end Cooper Flanagan, cornerback Christian Gray and defensive tackles Gabriel Rubio and Donovan Hinish for Saturday night’s home game against Navy.

Meanwhile, the Midshipmen will start Braxton Woodson in place of star quarterback Blake Horvath, according to ESPN. Horvath reportedly suffered an upper body injury near the end of last week’s road loss to North Texas.

In last year’s 51-14 Irish win over Navy in New Jersey, Horvath was 7-of-13 for 88 yards passing and one interception along with a team-high 129 rushing yards on 14 carries and a 47-yard touchdown.

Woodson, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound junior from Altamonte Springs, Fla., led Navy to a win over East Carolina last season in his only career start.

Flanagan, coming off January surgery for a torn Achilles, played just four snaps in each of the previous two games against USC and Boston College. The junior tight end could claim this season as a redshirt if he skips just one of the three remaining regular-season games after Navy.

Gray will miss a second straight game with a left hip issue. Rubio will miss a third straight game with a broken left arm; Hinish is out with a concussion.
