Former Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets wide receiver Isiah Canion transferred to the Georgia Bulldogs this winter. Canion is Georgia‘s top-ranked incoming transfer and is expected to make an instant impact for the Georgia passing game.
247Sports ranks Canion as a four-star transfer. He’s the No. 31 player in the country and the No. 8 receiver in the transfer portal.
Last year, Canion hauled in 33 receptions for 480 yards and four touchdowns (team-high for Georgia Tech). The 6-foot-4, 215-pound receiver has two years of eligibility left. He had four catches for 54 yards in Georgia Tech’s defeat to Georgia in a display that may have caught the eye of Georgia coach Kirby Smart.
Canion should immediately have an opportunity to be Georgia’s No. 1 wide receiver with Dillon Bell, Cole Speer, Colbie Young, Noah Thomas and Zachariah Branch are all headed to the 2026 NFL draft. He has a big frame and good speed. Canion projects to have a role similar to Colbie Young.
Canion is a red zone target that generated a lot of his production on over and shallow crossing routes. He’s a physical possession receiver that generates decent yards after the catch and has reliable hands.
