Watch: Notre Dame gets receiving touchdown from Jordan Faison late in 1st half vs Navy

No. 10 Notre Dame was in search of a score before halftime to get a more comfortable lead against a tough Navy Midshipmen team — and the Fighting Irish found it. They didn't even need to sweat the scary kicking game.

Fighting Irish quarterback CJ Carr found wide receiver Jordan Faison for a five-yard touchdown pass. That followed a 27-yard pass to WR Will Pauling on third-down-and-eight.

Notre Dame allowed a one-win Boston College team to be within one score at halftime last week, and the Irish want to have a larger margin at halftime against a 7-1 Navy team with a tough-to-stop running game. A Navy team that was in the Top 25 before dropping out after its first loss.

If the Irish can stop the Midshipmen on the ensuing drive, halftime will look better than it did last week.
