The New York Giants are expected to make another addition to coach John Harbaugh's staff in the coming days.

The Giants are restructuring their coaching ranks after Harbaugh agreed to a deal with the franchise in January. New York has allowed several coaches to explore other opportunities in the weeks since the signing.

Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports reports that the Giants are expected to sign Michigan's offensive line coach Grant Newsome to their staff.

Newsome was an offensive lineman at Michigan from 2015-16. The Virginia native was first a student assistant with the program before being hired as their tight end coach in 2022. He most recently served as their offensive line coach in 2025.

Michigan allowed 21 sacks in 2025 with Newsome leading their O-line, ranking No. 14 in the FBS. The Wolverines also gained 5.44 yards per carry (No. 9).

Newsome will likely be tasked with furthering the improvement of a Giants offensive line that conceded 48 sacks in 2024 as well as 2025, after allowing the second-most sacks in a single season in NFL history (85) in 2023.
