The Georgia Bulldogs are hoping to hold on to one of their top 2027 commits.
2027 five-star cornerback Donte Wright has been committed to Georgia since last June, but that hasn't stopped other programs from continuing to recruit him.
Wright, 6-foot-1/170 pounds from Long Beach, CA, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 3 cornerback in the nation and the No. 2 player in the state of California. He's also rated as the No. 31 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class.
The Oregon Ducks, Miami Hurricanes, and Oklahoma Sooners loom as threats to flip Wright from the Bulldogs.
Oregon, specifically, is a big threat. Wright, in fact, recently took a visit to Oregon.
Donte Wright comments on the status of his commitment to Georgia
Wright, for now, is still firmly committed to the Bulldogs.
“Another good trip and strongly committed,” said Wright to On3 after a return visit to Georgia this past weekend.
While Wright seems to be solid in his commitment to Georgia, it's clear he's still considering other schools (he plans to take visits to Oregon, Miami, and Oklahoma in the spring).
That means the Bulldogs will need to keep the pressure on to ensure that Wright arrives in Athens next winter.
Wright has the look of a future NFL cornerback. He's certainly not the type of player that Georgia wants to let get away.
