AUBURN — The pomp and circumstance of National Signing Day is a far cry from what it used to be, but today still marks the end of the 2026 recruiting cycle. Although, it’s unlikely Auburn football sees much action on the recruiting trail.
The Tigers aren’t expected to make any additions to their 20-player signing class Wednesday, Feb. 4, though head coach Alex Golesh hasn’t downplayed bringing in more bodies, despite 39 incoming Tigers coming from January’s transfer portal.
Auburn‘s latest signing class wasn’t highly touted, landing top-40 nationally but near the bottom of the SEC in the national rankings. Still, the Tigers signed six blue-chip prospects in this cycle, including five players from the state of Alabama.
Where does Auburn football’s 2026 signing class rank nationally?
- 247Sports: No. 31 (No. 13 SEC)
- On3/Rivals: No. 39 (No. 14 SEC)
By history’s comparison, Auburn’s latest class was underwhelming. Based on 247Sports’ composite ratings, it’s the lowest-ranked class Auburn has signed in the recruiting site era and just the second non-top-25 bunch.
Who are the standouts in Auburn football’s 2026 signing class?
Jaquez Wilkes looks far and away like Auburn’s likeliest true freshman to see the field in 2026, but there are a few others who could do the same with a proper offseason.
Former Michigan commit Brady Marchese and in-state signee DeShawn Spencer join a deep receiver room, but each were awfully productive in their final seasons of high school. Based on depth in some spots, Auburn’s two other blue-chip linebacker signees — Adam Balogun-Ali and Shadarius Toodle — and defensive linemen Corey Wells and Tavian Branch, are also names to watch.
