Ashton and Aydon Fickell, both sons of Wisconsin head coach Luke Fickell, committed to the Badgers as preferred walk-ons on Tuesday.
Both class of 2027 recruits play on the defensive side of the football for Edgewood High School: Ashton on the defensive line and Aydon at linebacker. Neither has a star or position rating on 247Sports. According to the recruiting service, both also had scholarship offers from Youngstown State.
The two join a Wisconsin class of 2027 that currently ranks No. 24 nationally with three other players committed. The rest of the class all also come from the state of Wisconsin: Iola, Wisconsin, tight end Korz Loken (four-star, No. 117 player in the class), Waukesha, Wisconsin, safety Dustin Roach (three-star, No. 728 player in the class) and Verona, Wisconsin, offensive lineman Ethan McIntosh (three-star, No. 589 player in the class).
Luke Fickell and the Badgers are looking to improve upon their No. 68 finish in the class of 2026. The program already has a strong starting point of commitments, all coming from in-state prospects.
