2026 NFL Draft QB Stock Report Week 11: Simpson Out-Duels Nussmeier, Two New Risers
steelers 2026 NFL draft

With the Pittsburgh Steelers in the market for a quarterback in the 2026 NFL Draft, Steelers Now will be taking stock of the draft class every week of the 2025 college football season.

STOCK DOWN: Dante Moore, Oregon

One of college football’s biggest surprises has been the play of Moore. The first five weeks were electric and included a thrilling overtime victory at Penn State. Since then, things haven’t been as electric.

On Saturday, Moore was underwhelming at Iowa. While the venue is a tough place to play, if you take away the Rutgers game two weeks earlier, Moore has thrown one touchdown since that OT victory.

Moore’s talent is more than enough to keep Oregon’s offense churning. Their upcoming games include USC and a road trip to Washington–both ranked opponents. He will be under the microscope to see if there is a significant bounce back in his game.

MDDB Ranking: Week 11, No. 3, QB2
Season Stats: 158-of-224 (70.5% comp. rate), 1884 yards (8.4 yards/attempt), 19 TD, 5 INT

STOCK UP: Marcel Reed, Texas A&M

The Texas A&M Aggies rank third in college football. A big part of that is the play of Reed. Though his frame leaves some concern, he has shown he can play with the big boys of the SEC.

On Saturday, Reed and the Aggies dropped 38 on the 22nd ranked Missouri Tigers on the road. The win finished their third consecutive road game where Reed finished with seven passing touchdowns, three rushing touchdowns, and 703 yards passing.

By far this has been the most challenging part of TAMU’s schedule so far. In three weeks they will face a Texas team that suddenly has a strong pulse. Can Reed propel himself into the draft talks en route to a playoff appearance?

MDDB Ranking: Week 11, No. N/A, QB N/A
Season Stats: 157-of-252 (62.3% comp. rate), 2193 yards (8.7 yards/attempt), 19 TD, 6 INT

Pittsburgh Steelers 2026 NFL Draft Carson Beck Miami
Carson Beck, Miami Athletics

STOCK DOWN: Carson Beck, Miami (FL)

Ever since the Louisville game, Beck hasn’t looked as strong as he did earlier in the season. Despite a decisive win for Miami on Saturday, Beck didn’t exactly light up the stat sheet.

In the first five games of the season, the Hurricanes were 5-0 with Beck throwing 11 touchdown to only three interception. In the last four games, they are 2-2 with Beck throwing four touchdowns and six interceptions. What started as a promising season has quickly turned into a downward spiral.

What might be more concerning is the fact that Beck’s medicals could tank his stock. After recovering from a torn UCL, things started off well. Based on how things have trended, could his elbow be causing issues?

MDDB Ranking: Week 11, No. 99, QB11
Season Stats: 192-of-264 (72.7% comp. rate), 2194 yards (8.3 yards/attempt), 15 TD, 9 INT

STOCK UP: Kevin Jennings, SMU

He may not be in the first-round conversation, but he has been the leader of a high scoring SMU offense. On Saturday, the Mustangs beat up Boston College. Jennings, again, put up a strong performance.

Jennings has turned the ball over a number of times this year. However, like he displayed Saturday, he makes up for it by putting points on the board. For the third time this season he led an offense that eclipsed 40+ points.

Only one of their three losses was by more than one possession. Jennings has given the Mustangs a fighting chance each game by leading this lethal offense. He likely will declare for the draft, but could also go for a fifth-season. Could his 2025 season have earned him a chance to be a day three selection?

MDDB Ranking: Week 11, No. 134, QB14
Season Stats: 226-of-349 (64.8% comp. rate), 2810 yards (8.1 yards/attempt), 21 TD, 9 INT

STOCK UP: Jayden Maiava, USC

Depending on who you ask, Maiava is a bit of a polarizing prospect. There’s no doubt he checks a lot of NFL boxes. He stands at 6’4″, 230 pounds, has a strong arm, and can make plays with his legs. However, he has been mocked anywhere from a first-round pick to a fourth-round pick.

On Friday night, Maiava completed over 70% of his passes, three total touchdowns (two pass, one rush), and posted a 93 QBR. The Hawaii native is making plays and keeping his Trojans in the playoff conversation. His 9.7 yards=per=attempt in the air are among the top in college football.

Maiava will have opportunity to really boost his stock. Not only will USC host Iowa, who took Oregon down to the wire, they will have to travel to Oregon. If he can perform well in these games, he might be in that first-round conversation for good.

MDDB Ranking: Week 11, No. 39, QB6
Season Stats: 178-of-269 (66.2% comp. rate), 2614 yards (9.7 yards/attempt), 17 TD, 6 INT

Worth Noting: Mendoza Leads Indiana to First Ever Win at Bear Stadium

After taking a 20-7 lead in the third quarter, Indiana watched Penn State claw their way back to take a 24-20 lead. Mendoza, who had not performed nearly as well as previous games, got one more chance for the Hoosiers.

On a 10-play, 80-yard drive, Mendoza showed why he is not only a Heisman candidate, but also college football’s top quarterback. He capped the game-winning drive with a touchdown pass. The catch might be THE catch of the year. However, this might have been Mendoza’s Heisman moment.

Worth Noting: Simpson vs. Nussmeier

Louisiana State’s Garrett Nussmeier was considered one of the top-five preseason quarterback prospects entering 2025. Alabama’s Ty Simpson wasn’t even on the radar. Saturday night, these quarterbacks met with different trajectories in the 2025 season.

Simpson made throws that have been routine for him this season. Nussmeier, unfortunately, had his snaps cut in favor of his back up. The night proved the direction of these two signal callers. Simpson could be a top-five pick come April while Nussmeier remains a talented mystery.
