The Georgia Bulldogs lost outside linebackers coach Chidera Uzo-Diribe this offseason and will have to replace him. The Dallas Cowboys brought in Uzo-Diribe to work on their defensive staff.
The Bulldogs have a pair of obvious options at outside linebacker coach that we’d expect them to be interested in. Former Georgia linebackers Christian Robinson and Jarvis Jones both have gotten off to strong starts in their young coaching careers. They are our top-two Georgia outside linebacker coach candidates.
Georgia is looking to improve its pass rush this offseason, so we expect the Bulldogs to place a premium on coaches that excelled in that area in the past. Georgia returns most of its front seven from the 2025 season, so the Bulldogs should be improved up front regardless of who is coaching outside linebackers. Still, the Dawgs have to be more disruptive against opposing quarterbacks. Georgia was last in the SEC last season with 20 sacks.
Alabama outside linebackers coach Christian Robinson
Robinson is Georgia’s most likely target. He coaches outside linebackers at an elite SEC program and has a strong connection to Georgia because he was a former Georgia player from 2009-2012. Robinson posted 159 tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss during his career with Georgia.
He’s served as the outside linebackers coach at Alabama since 2024. He’s also had coaching stops at Baylor, Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss and Mississippi State. He brings a lot of familiarity with the SEC recruiting territory.
Carver head coach Jarvis Jones
Former Georgia Bulldogs linebacker Jarvis Jones was an All-American at UGA and served as an analyst during the Kirby Smart era. Jones just led his high school to a state championship in 2025 in his first season as Carver’s head coach.
Jones is a former NFL first-round draft pick and coached a five-star outside linebacker last year at Carver. He’s certainly going to get some level of consideration.
Former Alabama, NFL linebacker Dont’a Hightower
Hightower served as the New England Patriots insider linebackers coach in 2024, but did not return in 2025. Hightower played under Kirby Smart at Alabama and was a good pass rusher during his NFL career from 2012-2021. He may be a bit of a longshot, but crazier things have happened.
Auburn outside linebackers coach Roc Bellantoni
If Georgia is looking to add a veteran coach, then the Bulldogs could add Bellantoni, who served as Auburn’s outside linebackers coach. Bellantoni helped develop Keldric Faulk and Keyron Crawford into likely 2026 NFL draft picks. Bellantoni has familiarity with the SEC, but does not have ties to Georgia coach Kirby Smart.
Auburn finished ninth in the SEC with 30 sacks in 2025, but they had a formidable pass rush and only played in 12 games.
