Which of the 12 teams in the most recent College Football Playoff did the best to set themselves up for a return? And what programs are ready to smash their way in?

The smart folks at ESPN came up with two interesting lists. Penned by Craig Haubert, six teams were part of the two sections. Big Ten fans are going to like the answers.

For the question: Who loaded up for another playoff run? Big Ten schools Indiana, Ohio State and Oregon made the cut. They were joined by Georgia, Miami and Texas Tech.

About the Hoosiers, Haubert wrote: "Curt Cignetti is as good as anyone identifying the right scheme fits. That's especially true at quarterback …"

The second part of the story asked: Who is primed to make a CFP breakthrough?"

Again, the Big Ten should be thrilled with the list as Michigan and Southern California were included. They were joined by LSU, Notre Dame, Texas and UNLV.

About the Wolverines, Haubert wrote: "Given the timing of Sherrone Moore's firing, Michigan's pivot to Kyle Whittingham looks like a best-case outcome."
