The Alabama Crimson Tide improved to 8-1 on the season following Saturday night’s victory against the LSU Tigers.

The Tide entered the matchup among the top teams in the SEC. LSU has had their fair share of struggles in recent weeks, and Alabama did an excellent job on the defensive side of the football as the unit was able to hold Garrett Nussmeier and the Tigers’ offense to just nine total points throughout the night.

Speculation continued to surround LSU leading up to the final moments prior to Saturday night’s contest, as interim cead coach Frank Wilson made his coaching debut following the Tigers’ firing of former head coach Brian Kelly. Kalen DeBoer took a moment to speak with the media following the game, as DeBoer shared an inside look at the preparation Alabama went through prior to facing Wilson in his first game as LSU’s head coach.

“We just acknowledged the fact that we were going to get their best in a rivalry game.” DeBoer stated. “This situation we were facing and what it was, in the end we needed to focus on us. And that’s what we really have challenged our guys to do over the past two weeks.”

Alabama appeared to be prepared on both sides of the ball despite struggling offensively at times. Both the Alabama and LSU defenses played at a very high level throughout the contest, as DeBoer credited the Tigers for their effort during all four quarters of the matchup despite the recent drama and off-field speculation.

Alabama will face the Oklahoma Sooners in a crucial SEC matchup next Saturday in Tuscaloosa, as the Tide will look to stay hot against one of the top ranked teams in the entire nation.
