Texas A&M (9-0, 6-0 SEC) stayed at No. 3 in both the US LBM Coaches Poll and the AP Top 25 after blowing out Missouri (6-3, 2-3 SEC) 38-17 on Saturday afternoon, as the Aggies are 9-0 for the first time since 1992. In just his second season at the helm, head coach Mike Elko has surpassed expectations and has his veteran team playing elite football at the right time.
Back-to-back 20-plus point blowouts on the road aren’t just impressive, but prove to the rest of the SEC that Texas A&M is impossible to shut down, knowing that even if the defense struggles, the Aggies’ offense can score 30-plus points every game with a balanced approach that was on display during Saturday’s win.
It’s hard to know if this success will continue into the College Football Playoff, but given the stiff defensive competition in the SEC, Texas A&M’s offense has been challenged week to week and has yet to look problematic.
This weekend, Georgia, Alabama, and Ole Miss all won their respective matchups, keeping pace in the SEC Championship Game race, as Texas A&M will likely need to finish undefeated in conference play to earn a trip to Atlanta for the first time in program history.
Ahead of hosting South Carolina for an early Saturday kickoff, here are the updated SEC Standings heading into Week 12.
