Big-time college football recruiting has sure changed over the last couple of years since Name, Image and Likeness became a part of things. Now that money is involved, the ability to keep verbal commitments in the class has become increasingly challenging. It has resulted in more volatility than before, and we'll continue to see more of it, especially as we get closer to the early signing period in early December.

On that note, things have been pretty fast and furious with the Ohio State 2026 recruiting cycle, and we just received news on another prospect committing to the Buckeyes.

Four-star defensive tackle Emanuel Ruffin announced his commitment to OSU on Sunday after decommitting from Colorado just last week. According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Ruffin is the No. 26 defensive lineman and 197th overall prospect in the 2026 class. The Bessemer, Alabama native becomes Ohio State's highest-rated defensive tackle in the class for the Buckeyes out of four defensive tackles committed.

Ruffin chose Ohio State over many other blue-chip programs, such as Alabama, LSU, Florida, Texas, and many others.

With the commitment, the Buckeyes' 2026 class now numbers 24, and there's expected to be more added before it's all said and done. It's a haul that currently ranks No. 7 in the country according to the 247Sports Team Composite rankings.
