Alabama football transfer Kedrick Bingley-Jones granted extra year of eligibility

One of the newest members of the Alabama football team has secured another season of eligibility.

Kedrick Bingley-Jones, who spent six seasons split between North Carolina and Mississippi State, announced Tuesday Feb. 10 that the NCAA has granted him another season of eligibility.

Bingley-Jones announced Jan. 12 his intention to transfer to Alabama for the 2026 season.

Bingley-Jones did not play in any games as a true freshman in 2020 for the Tar Heels due to injury. He also missed 10 games in 2023 for North Carolina due to injury. After transferring to Mississippi State in 2024, Bingley-Jones missed eight games with an injury.

In six collegiate seasons split between the Bulldogs and the Tar Heels, Bingley-Jones had 40 tackles and 2.5 tackles-for-loss. He played a career high 343 snaps for the Bulldogs in 2025, per Pro Football Focus.

Bingley-Jones is one of five defensive lineman to transfer to Alabama in 2026 along with Oregon transfer Terrance Green, South Carolina transfer Desmond Umeozulu, Washington transfer Caleb Smith and USC transfer Devan Thompkins.

Alabama opens the 2026 season against East Carolina Saturday, Sept. 5.
