A top SECcollege football program is trying to land one of the top recruits in the 2027 recruiting class.
According to Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong and Sam Spiegelman, they have logged expert predictions for five-star EDGE recruit Zyron Forstall to land with Texas A&M. Forstall is the top edge recruit in the country, per On3 and Rivals.
Forstall is also listed as a five-star recruit in 247Sports’ Composite rankings and is the second-best recruit in Florida. He’s also listed as the No. 11 overall recruit in the country.
This would be a big recruiting win for Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko, following the program’s College Football Playoff appearance in 2025. Elko led the Aggies to 11 wins before they lost to the Miami Hurricanes in the first round.
Elko has been the Aggies’ head coach for the last two seasons, compiling a 19-7 overall record. He was the Duke head coach for two seasons prior to taking the job with the Aggies (2022 and 2023), racking up a 16-9 record.
The Aggies have 10 commits in their 2027 recruiting class and have the second-best class in the nation, per 247Sports.
Texas A&M will open the 2026 college football season against Missouri State on Sept. 5 before playing Arizona State on Sept. 12. Nine of the program’s next 10 games will be against SEC schools.
Time will tell if the Aggies can get Forstall in the boat over the next few weeks or months.
