Texas A&M’s 2027 recruiting class is currently made up of ten commitments, including several blue-chip defenders who are considered instant impact prospects with extremely high upside, including cornerback Raylaun Henry and safety JayQuan Snell. This week, head coach Mike Elko and his staff received a prediction to land 2027 five-star edge Zyron Forstall, who has been compared to unanimous All-American edge Cashius Howell.

None of this is surprising for those who have paid attention, as Elko continues to prioritize recruiting, while a large portion of the college football landscape now allocates most of its resources to rebuilding through the transfer portal year after year. After landing 17 players from the portal this offseason, the 50/50 attention split will keep the Aggies in consistent contention for the College Football Playoff.

Focused on defense in the 2027 cycle thus far, Elko is looking to land a top prospect at every defensive position group, and on Tuesday, four-star linebacker Noah Glover out of Haymarket, Virginia, placed Texas A&M in his top 6 program list, joining Georgia, Oregon, Notre Dame, Miami, and Virginia Tech.

Over the last two months, Texas A&M’s coaching staff has featured several new additions, including new linebackers coach Travis Williams, who is already making an impact on the recruiting trail and will be a name to watch in Glover’s recruitment, especially heading into the 2026 season with a relatively new linebacker corps.

Texas A&M was one of the earliest teams to offer Glover this time last year, and has continued to stay in the race, looking to host the standout defender this spring/summer, knowing that all five of the other programs in his final group will also be able to sell their development plan, while NIL opportunities will also play a role.

According to 247Sports, Glover is currently positioned as the 125th-ranked prospect, the 8th-ranked linebacker, and the 2nd-ranked prospect in Virginia.
