LSU Receives Bad Recruiting News After Alabama Loss

The LSU Tigers faced the No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday night and lost 20-9.
They have lost three straight games and hold a 5-4 record.
They started the season 4-0, but things have spiraled, resulting in the firing of head coach Brian Kelly.
Things didn’t get any better in LSU’s first game without Kelly. The team even benched starting quarterback Garrett Nussmeier after he threw for just 121 yards with no touchdowns.
Whenever a college football program moves on from a coach, there’s always a recruiting domino effect. Recruits may back off their commitments or simply wait to see who the next coach will be.
On Sunday, LSU lost one of its commits.
Four-star EDGE DeAnthony Lafayette decommitted from LSU, according to Rivals.

Lafayette is 6-foot-1 and 230 pounds. He’s from Orlando, Florida, and goes to Lake Nona High School.
The class of 2026 recruit originally commmitted to LSU back in July but took visits to Miami, Boston College and Oklahoma prior to that.
Lafayette isn’t expected to be the only decommitment LSU will suffer in the next month or so.
LSU just recently brought in a new school president, named a new athletic director and will have a new head football coach soon.
